Privacy Policy

Introduction

Ornelle recommends what to wear for an occasion, using the answers you give it and the weather on the day. This policy explains what the app handles, what stays on your device, and the one thing that leaves it.

What we collect

Nothing. Ornelle has no servers of its own, no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not collect, receive, or store any information about you, your device, or what you wear.

Your answers and your outfits

What you tell the app — who the outfit is for, the occasion, the venue, the time of day, how long you will be there, and your skin tone if you choose to give it — is used on your device to build a recommendation, and is stored on your device so the app can show you the same brief again. So are your planned events, your scores, and your lookbook.

All of it lives in the app's own private storage and is removed when you delete the app. There is no cloud copy, no backup on our side, and no way for us to see any of it.

Location and weather

This is the only information that leaves your device. If you grant location permission, your approximate location is used to request the forecast for the day you are dressing for. The app asks iOS for reduced accuracy — roughly kilometre level, which is all a forecast needs — rather than your precise position.

Forecasts come from Apple's WeatherKit, so that request goes to Apple and is handled under Apple's own privacy terms. We never see it, and no location is ever sent anywhere else.

The app keeps a rough latitude on your device to work out which months count as which season where you are, so a relaunch does not have to guess. If you refuse location permission, nothing is requested and the app asks you to enter the temperature and conditions yourself.

What is stored on your device

Your most recent answers, your saved events and the briefs they produced, your scores, your lookbook, and how many free recommendations you have used this month. The saved briefs store references to the app's own style tables rather than copies of them, so a saved look re-renders in whatever language you use.

Advertising and tracking

There is none. Ornelle contains no advertising SDK, no third-party analytics, and no tracking of any kind. It does not ask for permission to track you across apps because it has nothing to track you with.

Data sharing

Nothing is shared, because nothing is collected. The only third party involved in the app's operation is Apple — for the weather request described above, and for purchases described below.

Purchases

Ornelle Premium is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payment, billing, renewals, and any refunds are handled entirely by Apple. The app asks Apple whether the current Apple Account holds a valid subscription and receives only a yes-or-no answer. We never see your name, email address, payment details, or Apple Account information.

Data security

Because your answers and outfits never leave your device, there is nothing in transit to intercept and no server holding your information. What the app stores is protected by iOS application sandboxing and your device passcode.

Children's privacy

Ornelle is suitable for users of all ages. It collects no information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Everything the app knows about you is on your device and under your control. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete on request. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes it will be updated here, with the date at the top revised. Any change that introduces data collection would be described plainly rather than folded into unrelated wording.
