DiskSweep for macOS
Terms of Use
Last updated September 2026
The agreement
DiskSweep is a macOS app published by Mashqur Habib Himel. Downloading or using it means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
The app is also covered by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to every app distributed on the App Store and can be read at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where that agreement and these terms disagree, Apple's takes precedence.
What the app is
DiskSweep analyses storage on your Mac and offers to remove what you choose. It labels every item by what removing it costs — safe, rebuilds itself, personal file, or application state — and never selects personal files for you. Every cleanup asks first.
Removing files is your decision
Each run lets you move items to the Trash, where they remain recoverable, or delete them permanently to reclaim the space immediately. A permanent delete cannot be undone by the app or by the developer. Caches and derived data rebuild themselves and a rebuild takes time; read what an item is before confirming it, and keep a backup of anything you care about.
Sandbox and permissions
DiskSweep runs inside Apple's App Sandbox. It can inspect your Downloads folder plus the folders you explicitly grant it, and nothing else; protected system locations are never offered. Every permission can be revoked from inside the app, and revoking one simply removes that folder from future scans.
Free use
Scanning and storage analysis are free to use, along with a limited amount of cleanup. These allowances may change in future versions.
DiskSweep Pro
DiskSweep Pro unlocks unlimited cleanup and the developer tools. It is offered at $9.99 per year as an auto-renewable subscription, or $29.99 once as a lifetime unlock. Prices are shown in your local currency inside the app and may vary by region.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings — on your device, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the subscription remains active until the end of the period already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase that does not renew.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by the developer. Requests are made at reportaproblem.apple.com.
What happens if a subscription ends
Scanning and storage analysis keep working, and the free cleanup allowance applies again. Nothing already removed is affected, and no file is ever deleted because a subscription lapsed.
Your content
Your files, file names, folder paths, and storage figures stay on your Mac. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and no crash reporting; the developer receives no information about what is on your Mac and claims no rights over any of it.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app, or use it in a way that breaks the law or Apple's terms.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from its use, including files you chose to remove or a cache that had to be rebuilt.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the app changes. The current version always lives on this page, with the date at the top revised. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting it.
